I'll need to come back to Outer Hebrides when I have more time - 2 days for Barra, Uist, Harris & Lewis really isn't enough!Okay I had 4 days but it takes 1 day just to get there (2 hours ride to Oban from Glasgow and then 5 hours on the ferry). Another 2 short ferries between islands and another ferry from Stornoway to Ullapool.But... Sailing times for this one were less than ideal!! A choice of 7am depart (need to get there by 6:15am) or late afternoon one meaning I wouldn't be back in Glasgow until late at night... So picked the early morning one. Had to pack my tent at 5am in the dark, in heavy rain and strong wind, needless to say that woke me up!!

Some more pics from the Overland Event (stolen as I didn't take any myself!)The best bike event I've been to, not to mention the only one that hasn't been cancelled this year. Organisers and volunteers did amazing job running it smoothly and with all safety measures in place.360 miles ride back from Oxford to Glasgow Sunday afternoon / evening wasn't the most fun given that I had to wait till the afternoon to sober up first, but it was totally worth it!

What a weekend!! Massive well done to the organisers for going ahead with the Overland Event this year and making it run smoothly and safely even with all covid restrictions in place!It was amazing to finally meet other travellers who I follow for a long time such as Elspeth Beard, Steph Jeavons, Ben King, Tiffany Coates, the Sidecar Guys and many others, and make so many new friends!It was my first time presenting about my trip and I was amazed that both times the rooms were full to the point I've been asked to do 3rd one that weekend! (due to limited indoor capacity this year presentations had to be repeated). Thanks to everyone who came!!

We made it to Overland Event 🙂!Early start and some 10 or 11 hours later we're here (I told my mum it would be 7 hours 🤫). But I didn't want to take the motorway the whole way so took some detours through very wet North Pennines and (also wet) Yorkshire Dales.Also wanted to detour through Peak District but I think my mum would have killed me if I made her sit on the back any longer than she had to. (BTW she kept asking me when am I going to take her out on the bike every day since I've been back, I don't think she's going to ask me again any time soon)!

Inversnaid & Loch KatrineI hardly been out this weekend (been busy finishing my trip presentation for Overland Event and doing some more video editing!) but managed to get out for a while and met up with Richard (Adventurescot) who's as mad as me (saying that I didn't get to riding in -40 degrees type of mad yet, only got to -17 so far), he travelled to 87 countries so was good to talk about our trips!

Isle of Skye last weekend.First night in my new sleeping bag - Snugpak Softie 9. I was expecting it to pack smaller based on dimensions on the Snugpak website, but it's still a little smaller than my old sleeping bag (Vango Latitude 200) and has better temperature range (-5 to -10) so it will be good for Alaska or Ushuaia. (in the pic I was still all wrapped up but had to take it all off shortly after as it got too hot!)Also my third night in my new tent - Naturehike Coud Up 2 which I'm very happy with so far. With only 3 weeks to go I think I'm now safe to announce that I will be presenting about my round the world trip at the Overland Event this year! First weekend of September, near Oxford.It's going to be my first presentation and I'm going to be super nervous so please excuse any uhhmms!!Unfortunately my Fireblade will not be there with me since I had to leave it in Australia (where it's patiently waiting for me to come back and resume my trip).As excited as I am about presenting about my trip, I'm even more excited to meeting other presenters such as @elspethbeard, @thesidecarguys, @existentialbiker, Ted Simon, @openexplorers, @helenstakeon, Tiffany Coates, @stephjeavons, @emmalucycole and other overlanders!Hope to see you there!!
